Philippines improving EEZ protection
The Philippines is attempting to beef up protection and monitoring of its EEZ, with the latest order covering two 50m vessels for the Department of Agriculture and its subordinate Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
Australian-based Incat Crowther announced on 17 February it had won the contract for the multi-mission, steel, monohull patrol vessels. The vessels will actually be built by Josefa Slipways in Manila.
