US prepares for interim air defence on Stryker in 2020
Industry is preparing to pitch prototypes for the US Army's interim Maneuver-Short Range Air Defense (M-SHORAD) programme, with plans to integrate technology onto a Stryker that can counter manned and unmanned threats by 2020.
In a recent announcement on the Federal Business Opportunities website, the service said it will host a 13 April industry day to discuss prototype development with interested companies.
'The M-SHORAD program is an urgent acquisition capability program, intended to deliver a solution to provide air and missile defense protection to the manoeuvring formations,' according to a recent notice. 'The initial 144 M-SHORAD systems
