Thailand orders Skyguard system
Rheinmetall will supply Skyguard air defence systems to the Royal Thai Army under a multi-million euro order announced on 11 January.
The contract covers four Oerlikon Skyguard 3 fire control systems and eight 35mm Oerlikon GDF007 Twin Guns, along with Ahead airburst ammunition and additional services.
Oerlikon Skyguard 3 is a third generation version of Rheinmetall’s Skyguard air defence product line. The system is designed for inner tier and vital asset protection, and can connect up to four effectors, including the twin guns ordered by Thailand, VSHORAD missile launchers and the Oerlikon Revolver Gun Mk2 Towed.
