SHOT Show: FN details 7.62mm SCAR-SC development
FN Herstal expects to offer a larger 7.62mm calibre version of its SCAR subcompact carbine (SC) by this summer.
Speaking at this year’s SHOT Show in Las Vegas, an FN Herstal spokesman told Shephard that a .300 BLK (7.62x35mm) version would likely be launched at the Eurosatory show in Paris this June.
FN Herstal’s move to a .300 BLK calibre for the SCAR-SC is indicative of a wider trend to integrate larger calibre ammunition types into small form factor weapon systems. Another company moving in this direction is IWI with its Tavor 7, a bullpup-configured 7.62x51mm (NATO) rifle that was
