Russian upgrades tactical strike
The Russian Army has strengthened its tactical strike capability through the recent deliveries of the 9K720 Iskander-M (SS-26 ‘Stone’) tactical ballistic missile system to another brigade.
In March the system was taken on strength by a missile brigade in Russia’s Eastern Military District.
The 20th Independent Missile Brigade, stationed in Spask-Dalniy in Russia’s Far East, has replaced its obsolete 9K79-1 Tochka-U (SS-21 Scarab-B) system with the new Iskander-M.
Before that, the Iskander-M has been delivered to seven (out of a total of 11) independent missile brigades of the Russian Army.
