Typhoon-1 tests typify intense activity worldwide on 122mm munitions
According to the official report of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the second stage of tests involving the 122mm 9M221F Taifun-1 rocket, developed by the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau in Dnepropetrovsk, was held on 29 April at the Alibey state testing ground in Odessa Oblast.
Test launches such as the one pictured above were made at the maximum range, which according to official data is 40km (double the maximum range of the BM-21 Grad MLRS). The first stage of testing of the Taifun-1 rockets with short-range launches was held in 2019.
