Norway accelerates CV90 upgrade

In order to support its defence industry to handle the impact of COVID-19, the Norwegian government has announced that it will accelerate investments in defence upgrade programmes, including improvements to part of the CV90 fleet.

The MoD intends to invest NOK600 million ($64 million) on modernising 20 existing CV90 chassis. The process will be carried out together with the Norwegian industry in the period between this year and 2023.

An MoD official told Shephard that the CV90 upgrade programme was originally planned to commence in 2024, for delivery to Norwegian Army units from 2025.
