Jet suit could have its uses for UK armed forces
As the UK MoD digests the results of the latest annual Army Warfighting Experiment (AWE) which finished last week, one absentee was the futuristic Jet Suit backpack from Gravity Industries.
However, the company recently released a video, in which its founder and chief test pilot Richard Browning flew and landed a Mk2 Gravity Jet Suit on a Royal Artillery AS90 155mm self-propelled howitzer.
The jet pack is designed to enable pinpoint human mobility over short distances, with potential applications in missions such as combat SAR. It is manufactured in a 3D-printing process with various polymers, aluminium and titanium.
