Innovation underpins MGCS initiative

The Franco-German effort to develop the Main Ground Combat System (MGCS) aims to improve the mobility and protection of their MBT fleet and to incorporate the latest innovative capabilities into these new platforms.

After the defence ministers of the two nations signed an agreement last month to start the latest phase of the programme, press officials from the French and German MoDs confirmed to Shephard that the new tanks will bring advanced technologies and superior fire capabilities to ensure land-based assertive superiority in any direct engagement.
