Bumerang returns to drawing board
The Bumerang wheeled 8x8 IFV, developed by Moscow-based VPK (Military Industrial Company) for the Russian Land Forces, is to feature a revised hull design.
Russian news agency TASS noted that the extensive redesign is required to improve the vehicle’s amphibious performance. The move was recommended after the Russian military completed preliminary testing of the IFV. The wider hull will accommodate eight troops more comfortably and enable them to disembark faster.
Other modifications on the Bumerang include additional armour to improve battlefield survivability. The preliminary testing campaign concluded that, in general, the Bumerang IFV meets the requirements of the Russian
