Paris Air Show 2013: MBDA unveils future weapon family

MBDA has unveiled the CVS302 Hoplite, an indirect precision attack capability for land and naval artillery, which is designed to meet the surface combat requirements of 2035 and beyond.

In a media briefing on the first day of the Paris Air Show, MBDA said that the future battlefield will be more challenging than today due to an increasingly congested and contested environment, which requires more advanced artillery capability capable of precision targeting.

‘By 2035, the complexity that is evident in today’s battlefield are only going to become more challenging, they are only going to become more cluttered and congested,’
