NATO readiness brought into question
The ever-increasing threat from Russia following the 2014 annexation of Crimea has brought into question the operational readiness of NATO forces.
In this new political landscape, Europe faces arguably one of the biggest threats since the fall of the Berlin wall with NATO and partnering nations unable to predict Valdimir Putin’s next move, according to a former NATO commander.
‘We must ensure we have enough equipment and soldiers to defend our people and some would say that we are currently below our capability,’ said retired general Hans-Lothar Domorӧse, former commander Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum
