Malaysian AV-8 on the road
Deliveries of the first AV-8 initial serial production vehicles for Malaysia are planned to start in the last quarter of 2014, Shephard has been informed.
A spokesperson from FNSS said deliveries of the 8x8 wheeled armoured vehicles will be initiated now that ‘the development and production of two sealed-pattern vehicles have been completed’.
‘The vehicles are going through qualification tests,’ he added.
FNSS signed a letter of acceptance with local Malaysian vehicle manufacturer Deftech in May 2011 for the design, development and manufacture of the AV-8 for the Malaysian Armed Forces.
