LAAD 2015: Brazilian M113 modernisation nears completion
Modernisation work on the first tranche of 150 M113B armoured personnel carriers for the Brazilian Army is almost complete, BAE Systems officials have revealed to Shephard.
Speaking at the LAAD exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, the company confirmed it is now responding to an RfP for the upgrade of a second tranche of M113 vehicles, potentially numbering over 200.
Mark Signorelli, vice president and general manager vehicle systems at BAE Systems, said the Brazilian military was also considering a third tranche of upgrades, which would complete the army’s M113 inventory.
