FIDAE: IWI contracted for Chilean rifle
The Chilean Army has selected the ACE N-C 5.56mm x 45mm rifle from Israeli Weapons Industries (IW), Shephard has learned.
Natan Hendler, VP of marketing for Latin America at IWI, said the contract was signed some three months ago but it has not been announced until now.
‘IWI will build the rifle in cooperation with the Chilean armaments manufacturer FAMAE [Fábricas y Maestranzas del Ejército],’ he said. ‘Most of the main parts of the rifle will be made in Chile,’ he added.
The numbers of rifles, delivery schedule and value of the contract could not be disclosed but Shephard understands
