Eurosatory: Piranha a flying fish?

Plans are afoot to conduct a flight test of transporting a Piranha 5 8x8 armoured personnel carrier by air.

Vehicle manufacturer General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) wants to prove the Piranha’s ability to be moved by air in an A400M transport aircraft.

Company sources told Shephard that they are not sure yet when a flight test will take place but it follows a set of ground tests completed in April that evaluated the vehicle with the aircraft.

During these tests, which took place at the Airbus Defence and Security A400M assembly and test site in Seville, the Piranha 5
