Eurosatory 2010: German AMPV prototype displayed
An Armoured Multi Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) prototype was displayed by the consortium of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) and Rheinmetall Landysteme.
Prior to Eurosatory 2008 the two companies teamed to develop a family of vehicles to meet the German Army’s Armoured Command and Multirole Vehicle (GFF ) 5.3t Class 1 and the 7.5t Class 2 requirements. Although the General Dynamics European Land Systems Mowag Eagle IV has been ordered for the initial GFF 2 batches a new competition is expected for subsequent batches.
