Delivery of first Ajax variant imminent
British Army training units are preparing for the imminent delivery of the first Ajax variant after the completion of government acceptance testing (GAT).
The first platforms delivered under the Ajax programme will be the Ares specialist troop carrier configuration, which will be received by the Armour Centre at Bovington, a spokesperson for the MoD told Shephard.
The spokesperson also confirmed that GAT for Ajax is expected to commence in early 2018 following successful manned live firing trials with General Dynamics Land Systems UK (GDUK) and the turret developer, Lockheed Martin, at the end of September 2017.
