Defexpo 2014: New Arjun Catapult on display
A new variant of the Arjun fitted with a 130mm M46 rifled gun system has been put on display at the Defexpo exhibition in Delhi.
The Arjun Catapult’s new gun can engage targets in indirect fire mode out to 27.4 km and direct fire up to 1.4 km. It can be fired from -2degrees of elevation up to 45degrees and 14 degrees traverse on either side.
It can fire 35 high explosive shells and has a 7.62 mm machine gun as a secondary armament with 3,000 rounds of ammunition. The Arjun Catapult weighs 54t and has a crew of eight
