China deploys new vehicle types and is developing new 8x8 AFV
The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has been busy introducing new artillery platforms, and China is currently developing a replacement for its existing 8x8 armoured vehicle.
The Type 08, which spawned a profusion of variants, has been around for more than a decade, and China seems to be working on an improved 8x8 design for the PLA. A CGI rendering published on the China Defense Blog website showed what is purported to be a new 8x8 direct-fire variant that would replace the ZTL-11 assault gun.
