Army positioning for RECAP of 60,000 Up-Armored HMMWVs
The US Army is preparing for a projected March 2010 release of a draft Request For Proposals (RFP) for the recapitalization of thousands of Up-Armored High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs).
Speaking to the 2010 Tactical Wheeled Vehicles Conference in Monterey, California, on 9 February 2010, Mr. Dennis Haag, US Army Product Manager for Light Tactical Vehicles, pointed to the recent start of an “RFI (Request For Information] process” that will precede the formal RFP.
