UTC Aerospace Systems will provide Cloud Cap technology TASE500 and TASE400 imaging systems for Cirrus Aircraft's Perception special mission aircraft, it was announced on 15 July.
The TASE imaging systems feature high-definition cameras with continuous zoom functionality. They include ViewPoint user interface software, which enables operators to record, multi-task and disseminate critical data.
The TASE systems are designed to be used in total darkness and through almost all weather conditions. On the Cirrus Perception, it may be used to automatically detect and track moving or fixed targets of interest.
David Moser, vice president of fleet and special mission aircraft, Cirrus Aircraft, said: 'The Cloud Cap TASE imaging products have a long history of providing advanced imagery in special mission operations around the world. Supporting these technologies with the Cirrus Perception is a natural fit, as the total package will deliver the capability, quality and reliability our customers demand for their missions.'
John Trezza, vice president, ISR & space systems, UTC Aerospace Systems, said: 'Cirrus Aircraft is recognised as a leader in general aviation and innovation and we are honoured to partner on the Cirrus Perception configuration. We look forward to supporting Cirrus Aircraft with the growing airborne imaging needs of this industry.'
