West: US to streamline NIEs
The US Army’s semi-annual Network Integration Evaluations (NIEs) could lose some of their role.
Held at Ft Bliss, Texas and White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico the NIEs have been characterized as an optimal environment for the operational testing of military equipment.
Speaking to Shephard at the Afcea West 2015 exhibition in San Diego, Maj Gen Dan Hughes, US Army Program Executive Officer for Command, Control, Communications – Tactical (PEO C3T) said: ‘We do a lot of operational testing out there. But I don’t know if that’s a good environment for that anymore, I really don’t.’
