US Army chief looks to capitalise on AI and robotics

While US Army leaders continue working to modernise their current weapons, platforms and networks, they are also seeking ways to capitalise on advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics for the future.

In order to achieve this goal, the US Army's top four-star general has warned that the military must address the ‘fundamental change in the character of war’ and be prepared for the ‘big war’.

As such, the service is working to develop new weapons systems to meet challenges posed by near-peer and peer threats such as Russia and China, which are pushing forward with AI technology advancements.
