Terma partners with TASL for Indian radar project
Terma has partnered with Tata Advanced Systems (TASL) for the Indian Navy’s Surface Surveillance Radar (SSR) project. A contract to execute the project was announced on 15 November.
The SSR programme calls for 31 radars to be installed and commissioned on Indian Navy vessels. The project also involves delivery of simulators, establishment of depot level facilities, and integrated logistics support with deliveries spread over ten years.
The Scanter 6002 radar is being manufactured in India with transfer of technology from Terma in Denmark. The radar is a high-performance solid state radar capable of 24/7 operations.
