Skynet casts eye over Asia-Pacific
The Skynet 5A spacecraft from Airbus Defence and Space will go live in the Asia Pacific region at the end of August.
Skynet 5A will be the first of the Skynet X-band and UHF satellite network to be out of sight of the UK and will complete worldwide satellite communications coverage for Airbus DS for the first time.
The company announced on 23 July that the satellite is making a 67,000km journey to reposition from 6˚ east to 94.8˚ east enabling it to cover the area.
