Russia sets sights high
Six next generation mobile early warning air defence radars are expected to enter Russian service over the next few years.
The Russian MoD is procuring the 1L125 Niobiy-SV mobile VHF early warning radar and the first two due to be commissioned in 2017 with the rest to follow in 2018.
The cost is slated at 2.34 billion rubles, about $355 million. The first two will be delivered to the Military Academy of Air Defence Troops in Smolensk and the 106th Training Centre of Air Defence Troops in Orenberg next year.
