AN/ALR-69A (V) receivers ordered by USAF
Raytheon has received an IDIQ contract from the US Air Force (USAF) to deliver the AN/ALR-69A (V) all-digital radar warning receiver, the company announced on 1 May.
The contract will enable the USAF to procure 779 or more units of AN/ALR-69A (V) for its fleet of tactical air and large body aircraft.
The ALR-69A enhances aircrew survivability by providing sensor-forward situational awareness without requiring aircraft hardware modifications. The receiver provides improved detection range and accurate, unambiguous identification in dense signal environments comprised of threat signals and those from wingmen, coalition partners and commercial operations. The receiver’s 360° coverage is provided by four independent radar receivers, each covering one quadrant of the aircraft.
The ALR-69A is installed on the USAF’s C-130H, KC-46A and is being tested on the F-16.
Travis Slocumb, VP, Raytheon EW Systems, said: ‘The ALR-69A provides USAF pilots the situational awareness required to operate in current and future complex emitter environments. We will continue to upgrade the receiver and add machine learning-based modules so the system can autonomously adapt to new threats.’
