Raptor Photonics has launched a new passive digital short-wave infrared (SWIR) night vision system called Owl 640 N.

The compact and low-power system was developed for handheld, mobile or airborne applications.

The 640x512 resolution sensor has a 15μm square pixel pitch and it offers visible SWIR wavelength coverage of 600-1700 nanometres, with a frame rate of up to 120Hz and readout noise of 18 electrons.

Owl 640 N is compatible with VIS-SWIR illuminators, markers and pointers. Onboard automated gain control enables clear video in all light conditions.
