ADEX 2017: Rafael promotes Iron Dome for Korea

Israel-based Rafael Advanced Defence Systems is offering Iron Dome, the only dual-mission counter-rocket, artillery and mortar (C-RAM) and very short-range air defence system at this week’s Seoul ADEX, being held from 17-22 Oct.

South Korea has a requirement for a low-altitude, short-range combat-proven air defence system to protect critical infrastructure, command and control nodes, residential areas and military bases, a spokesman for Rafael said. ‘They are looking for a holistic solution approach.’

However, South Korea's Agency for Defence Development is working on a similar 'hit-to-kill' solution comparable to the Iron Dome, according to local media reports. Nevertheless, Rafael argues that
