Rafael to lead Israel CERT
Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has been selected to head Israel's Computer emergency Response Team (CERT) programme, the company announced on 30 June.
The company will be the prime contractor for the programme, with EMC, IBM, Matrix and Cisco serving as programme partners. These companies will work together to develop defence and security capabilities to detect, monitor and handle cyber threats on behalf of the Israeli government.
The programme will combine various tools and IT infrastructure to aid government offices and civilian companies in handling and preventing cyber attacks.
Brig Gen (ret.) Ariel Karo, head of C4I and cyber directorate, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, said: 'Our solution is conceptually unique, and is designed to analyse and suit the proper mode of operation to the most complex threats in the global cyber arena.'
Vice Admiral (ret.) Yedidia Yaari, CEO and president, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, said: 'Rafael's selection by the Israeli government is a strategic development for the company. Rafael is known for its technological legacy and successes with systems such as Iron Dome, Trophy and David's Sling.
'We are now ready to leverage our expertise in cyber technology, together with our new partners, to lead Israel's battle against the ever-growing and changing cyber threats, as part of our vision to be a stern pillar in ensuring the security and defence of the State of Israel and its citizens.'
