Is PLAAF harassment of Taiwan a dress rehearsal for Guam?

The 11 May flight by the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), yet another in a series of harassment exercises against Taiwan, may well have had another objective than just trying to intimidate.

Details about the flight ‘suggest that the exercise could have been geared towards preparations for an attack on the US military facilities on Guam,’ according to NATO nation intelligence officials who spoke to Shephard after the incident.

They and other analysts point out several aspects of the exercise that raise questions whether it could have been a dress rehearsal against Guam. One is the inclusion of Tu-154M/D
