Philippines receives Cessna ISR aircraft
The Philippine Air Force (PAF) has received from the US a pair of Cessna 208B Caravan aircraft outfitted with an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) suite.
The single-engine turboprop Caravan aircraft are fitted with an L3 Wescam MX-15HDi camera system installed in a ventral pod. This EO/IR system is controlled from inside the aircraft, with the aft console digitally recording images.
The ISR aircraft also has PRC-152 radios and antennas that allow direct communication with soldiers on the ground. An air-to-ground link enables full-motion video to be transmitted to receivers on the ground within a 16km radius. Avionics come
