Netherlands Coast Guard DHC-8 programme includes CarteNav mission software
Canadian company CarteNav on 30 September announced it is providing ISR mission software for two new DHC-8 multirole maritime surveillance aircraft, to be operated by the Netherlands Coastguard over the North Sea.
CarteNav is supporting its parent company PAL Aerospace and JetSupport, which are prime contractors on the programme.
The contract, worth an undisclosed amount, covers an initial ten-year period with an option to extend for two additional one-year terms.
JetSupport and PAL Aerospace will install AIMS-ISR mission software from CarteNav. According to Shephard Defence Insight, this tool is operated via a user interface that can be used to control multiple sensors, including EO/IR cameras, searchlights, AIS, radar, VIDAR and COMINT modules.
To deliver the multi-role capabilities in a unified mission management system, CarteNav also plans to develop new Side Looking Airborne Radar and IR/UV line scanner moving map capabilities.
