ManTech to develop Hawkeye sensors
ManTech has received a $45 million four-year contract for the technical advancement of sensors used on E-2D Hawkeye aircraft used by US Naval Air Systems Command, the company announced on 15 October.
The Hawkeye aircraft uses integrated, automated sensors to provide surveillance, identification and tracking of threat aircraft and cruise missile systems, for area-wide situational awareness.
ManTech will leverage its experience with sensor integration and support as well as agile software engineering and development techniques to advance sensor performance.
Kevin Phillips, president and CEO of ManTech, said: ‘ManTech’s agile approach to sensor development and platform integration will drive efficiency, add flexibility for adopting emerging technologies and lead the way to new capabilities that enhance the US Navy warfighter’s mission.’
