L-3 expands ISR portfolio
L-3 Communications has acquired ForceX and renamed it as L-3 ForceX, the company announced on 13 October. The organisation will be incorporated into L-3's Integrated Sensor Systems (ISS) sector within the electronic systems business segment.
L-3 ForceX will focus on growing its work on ISR mission management software and geospatial application technology programmes, offering an array of products, including cueing system software, hardware and video algorithms, and wide-area sensor integration solutions and software.
The company’s proprietary processing, exploitation and dissemination capability, Tactical PED, provides an integrated tactical operational picture for real-time decision making.
The business currently supports several US Department of Defense ISR initiatives and classified programmes, with a customer base that includes the US Air Force, US Special Operations Command, the Naval Surface Warfare Center and a variety of DoD agencies.
