Kilgore receives US DoD flares order
The US Air Force has ordered MJU-53/B countermeasure flares from Kilgore Flares under a $90 million IDIQ contract announced on 29 July.
The MJU-53/B infrared decoy flare provides protection against air-to-air and surface-to-air infrared weapon systems.
The system is deployed on US Air Force Mobility Command C-17 and C-5 aircraft.
Work will run through July 2023.
