Indra to provide SATCOM terminals for German corvettes
Indra will work with Atlas Elektronik to provide five satellite communications (SATCOM) terminals to the Germany Navy's K130 Braunschweig class corvettes under a three-year project, it was announced on 6 May. The company was selected following an RfP process.
Indra will supply its TNX-100 terminal for the project, which covers the manufacturing, integration and testing of the SATCOM terminals, electronic documentation as well as training for crews.
The terminal has two stabilised 1.5m-diametre dishes and can simultaneously transmit and receive up to 4Mbps.
The TNX-100 terminal has already been implemented in several Spanish vessels, including the F-100 frigates and the Juan Carlos I strategic projection ship.
Indra has also supplied SATCOM systems to the German Navy in the past. It has equipped the F-122 frigates and the six Elbe class replenishment ships with these types of systems, as well as the German U212 class submarines.
