Indonesia signs radar MoU with Thales
PT Len, a state-owned Indonesian electronics company, signed an MoU with Thales on 24 April on the topic of radar development suitable for use by Indonesia’s military.
The cooperation is designed to ‘enhance, expand and strengthen national radar coverage across the country’s extensive land and sea territory,’ according to the Thales.
Indonesia is an archipelago of more than 17,000 islands stretching across 1.9 million km², which represents stiff challenges to airspace management.
Thales will also help maintain existing air defence radars operated by the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU). It will support PT Len with training and technology transfers to boost
