IDEF 2015: Fotoniks and BAE to deliver Turkish digital displays
Turkish electronics company Fotoniks will deliver 16 new LiteHUD (Heads Up Display) systems to the Turkish Air Force with the assistance of BAE Systems.
The companies announced the agreement at the IDEF exhibition in Istanbul. A sub-contract for the LiteHUD aircraft display system was awarded to Fotonik on 5 January 2015 by prime contractor TAI.
They will develop BAE’s LiteHUD system at their facility in Ankara to meet Turkish requirements so that it can be fitted to the Hurkus basic training aircraft. Hurkus – meaning freebird – has a glass cockpit but with avionics from a fighter jet.
