Harris receives new tactical radio order
Harris has received an order to supply Falcon III wideband tactical radios and accessories to an unnamed Middle East nation, the company announced on 21 December.
The order, part of the customer's wider communications modernisation programme, is valued at $66 million.
Harris will provide several configurations of its Falcon III radios, including the RF-7800V for expanded narrowband data capabilities; the RF-7850M for wideband, mobile ad-hoc networking; the RF-7800H for data in long-range, beyond-line-of-sight environments; and the RF-5800H for data and voice in long-range, beyond-line-of-sight environments. It will also supply vehicular systems, accessories and training services.
Brendan O’Connell, president, tactical communications, Harris Communication Systems, said: ‘Our multiband, multimission radios will provide secure voice and high-bandwidth data across extended ranges and a wide variety of missions. Harris continues to provide this customer with advanced tactical radio technology to aid their transition to wideband, networked communications.’
