Kongsberg Defence Systems has entered into a contract with Hanwha Land Systems to deliver its Integrated Combat Solution (ICS) as part of Finland’s acquisition of the K9 Thunder self-propelled howitzer (SPH).

The deal, announced on 23 August, comes several months after the Finnish government agreed to purchase second-hand 155mm/52cal SPHs from the Republic of Korea (RoK).

The agreement, which is worth €146 million, will see Finland receive 48 systems along with arrangements for training, spare parts and maintenance.

The value of the deal between Kongsberg and Hanwha Land Systems, and the expected completion date, have not been disclosed.
