MSPO 2017: Watching brief for Thales in Polish UAS programme

Patience is the name of the game for Thales as it awaits a final decision by Poland’s government for the provision of the Watchkeeper X and associated ground control stations.

The country is in the market for hundreds of unmanned systems of differing sizes and capabilities, among them tactical UAS platforms such as Watchkeeper

Thales has put forward the Watchkeeper X aircraft, an upgraded variant of the platform operated by the British Army. The ‘X’ variant contains improved sensor payloads, is certified for civil airspace operations and can provide a multi-mission surveillance capability, according to the company.
