Elbit to deliver TCLS to Raytheon
Elbit Systems of America has received a contract to deliver its Two Color Laser System (TCLS) for Raytheon’s Multi-Spectral Targeting System, Elbit Systems announced on 3 January.
TCLS is a production component within the electro-optical surveillance system for multiple military airborne platforms, including UAS. With reduced size, weight and power requirements, the system offers a laser beam coded for directing laser-guided munitions and a separate laser beam used for eye-safe laser range finding.
Raanan Horowitz, president and chief executive officer of Elbit Systems of America, said: ‘The TCLS provides increased targeting accuracy and flexibility, minimising the potential for collateral damage. These attributes are key to US warfighters who depend on these systems for a successful mission.’
Work on this contract will be performed in 2019.
