Cubic selects Airbox ADSA terminal
Airbox Aerospace has been selected to develop an AWES Distributed Situational Awareness (ADSA) portable terminal for Cubic Global Defense (CGD), it announced on 10 September.
The system, based on Airbox Aerospace's PANDA mapping engine, will provide improved safety and efficiency on Cubic's training ranges. The portable terminal will display CGD's Digital Advanced Warfighting Experiment (DAWES) and Area Weapons Effect Simulator (AWES) data.
ADSA enables several levels of visual data to be displayed over digital mapping in the command centre and on the ranges. It helps mobile observers and commanders locate vehicles and personnel involved in training in real-time. It also provides additional information on specific training including fire engagement information.
William Moore, CTO, Airbox, said: ‘Cubic have been an outstanding partner, sharing their expertise to maximise the benefit of the product for the [Ministry of Defence]. This programme will deliver enhanced situational awareness to all its users which in turn will aid efficiency and improve safety on our training ranges.’
