Australia looks towards space with force restructure, investment and training
Australia is looking to improve its presence in space with a focus on communications and creating a dedicated segment of its defence forces committed to the domain.
CACI International has been awarded a tak order to continue providing support to the Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD) of the US Army's Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC).
Under the multi-million dollar, multi-year task order contract, the company will continue providing rapid response technical forensics and exploitation support to CERDEC's I2WD. The order was awarded under the Rapid Response Third Generation contract vehicle.
CACI International's support services for the I2WD include the development, design, and implementation of critical software. The I2WD aims to research and develop electronic warfare, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and cyber technologies for the US military.
John Mengucci, chief operating officer and president, US operations, CACI International, said: 'CACI will leverage our software engineering expertise and in-depth knowledge of the Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate's technology environment to enhance the army's capability to field new counter-improvised explosive device technology.'
