Northrop to continue to protect DISA-managed networks
Northrop Grumman received a task order to continue its lead role in protecting US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) managed networks from cyber-attacks, as announced on 19 March.
Under the task order awarded by DISA, Northrop Grumman will continue its role on the Acropolis and Sensor Operations programme, formerly known as the Centaur programme, to protect DISA-managed networks.
The task order was awarded under Encore II Information Technology Solutions indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. It is worth up to $73.6 million over four years.
Northrop Grumman will continue to provide secure, consolidated, and integrated defensive cyber operations and a global cyber situational awareness environment to network defence analysts in order to better protect the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN), Joint Information Environment and Enterprise Services from cyber threats.
Northrop will also operate and maintain the DODIN-wide computer network defence sensor infrastructure. It will use its advanced cyber technology centre to bolster speed and resilience and reduce costs.
Shawn Purvis, vice president and general manager, cyber division, Northrop Grumman Information Systems, said: 'The DISA Acropolis mission is critical to national security.
'This massive global network must operate 24/7, be resilient and ready to identify and eliminate formidable threats. Northrop Grumman is proud to be DISA's trusted partner in providing high-end talent and capabilities that meet their evolving cyber needs. We look forward to continuing our support to Acropolis and leveraging innovations in affordability and technology to protect the warfighter and our joint mission partners.'
