Bittium Wireless receives Finnish order
Bittium Wireless has received a purchase order from the Finnish Defence Force for products included in the software defined radio-based Bittium Tactical Wireless IP Network (TAC WIN) tactical communications system, Bittium announced on 13 April.
The order, worth $17.6 million, is part of the Finnish Defence Forces’ renewal of command, control and communications systems, where the TAC WIN system functions as the backbone network for tactical data transfer. The system provides broadband IP network connections for mobile communication stations and command posts.
The purchase order comes under a framework agreement signed between both the parties in August 2017, which allows Finnish forces to order the Bittium TAC WIN system products during 2018-2020.
Deliveries will take place during 2018.
