Applied Insight receives AFCENT contract
Applied Insight has received a new task order to provide cybersecurity support to the US Air Force Central Command (AFCENT), the company announced on 18 July.
The $5.2 million task order includes a base year, two one-year options and an option to extend services. The task order will see the company provide cybersecurity assessment and authorisation services for information systems through the NETCENTS AFNET-OPS indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract.
The work will support the AFCENT authorising official in developing a mature cybersecurity assessment and authorisation programme.
Applied Insight will be responsible for securing the integration, advancement and sustainment of AFCENT’s communications capabilities within cyberspace. This will be accomplished through cybersecurity control, assessment, verification, validation auditing, cybersecurity management and cyber threat intelligence analysis. The team will also support AFCENT’s transition of the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process to the risk management framework.
Greg Walker, president at Applied Insight, said: ‘We are honoured to have this new opportunity to work with AFCENT in advancing their cybersecurity mission. Our team’s long track record with the air force has helped us gain a deep understanding of their distinct cyber governance and systems integration requirements.
‘This allows us to bring unparalleled support to AFCENT in terms of managing risk and comprehensively addressing cyber vulnerabilities in direct support of the warfighter within the joint AF and CENTCOM [area of operations].’
