New US defence strategy promises big ticket investments
The Pentagon’s new National Defence Strategy (NDS) has outlined preparations for a conflict with strategic competitors Russia and China, while the Pentagon says it is ready to step up investments on big ticket items.
US military leaders on 19 January officially unveiled the unclassified version of the 2018 NDS - a document designed to articulate how the Pentagon will carry out the president’s agenda. Previous versions had been called the Quadrennial Defence Review.
